YJP — Yahoo Japan Auctions Viewer · Last updated: June 21, 2026
YJP is a fast, native iPhone app for browsing and tracking auctions from Yahoo Japan Auctions. Search for an item, tap any listing to see details and a translated title, and add the ones you care about to your watchlist to track their price and get alerts before they close.
Open any listing and tap the watch/star button to add it to your watchlist. The app records a price history for watched items and can notify you when the price changes or a new bid comes in.
Yahoo Japan uses overtime bidding: a bid placed in the final few minutes extends the closing time. A Live Activity countdown may briefly show "Ended" before the next refresh picks up the extended time. This is expected behavior, not a bug.
Live Activities start automatically when you watch an auction with a short time remaining, and end automatically when the auction closes, is relisted, or is removed from your watchlist. iOS also limits how long a Live Activity can stay on screen.
On-device translation uses Apple's Translation framework and requires iOS 18 or later. The first time you translate, iOS may need to download a language pack — make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi and try again. Translation is not available on some Simulators or older devices.
No. YJP is a read-only viewer — it does not log in to Yahoo, submit bids, or change anything on Yahoo's servers. To bid, use Yahoo Japan directly or a proxy bidding service such as Buyee, Zenmarket, or FromJapan (the app links to these for convenience).
Check that notifications are enabled for YJP in iOS Settings → Notifications → YJP, and that the item is on your watchlist with an alert configured. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
YJP reads Yahoo Japan's public pages, so a layout change on their side can occasionally affect results. If results look broken, please email a screenshot and the search you used so it can be fixed quickly.
Use Settings → Clear Cache for cached images and Settings → Clear History for search history. All app data is stored on your device only.
Yes. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything the app stores stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
